What is SMP?

 Scalp micro-pigmentation (SMP) is a non-surgical, superficial cosmetic tattoo that gives the illusion of a close buzz-cut hairstyle on a bald head or density to a thinning crown. The procedure can also be used to conceal scars from Burns, and hair transplantation also to hide the visual impacts of Alopecia.  SMP can be performed on all ethnicities. SMP does not involve local anesthesia. In contrast to traditional tattoos, this treatment is superficial in that it penetrates the epidermal level of the skin (See Below) and pigments are strategically deposited  1-2 mm deep to avoid macro impressions (aka Blow-Outs).

How much is SMP? 

Depending on how much is needed or where you want the pigment. (Scalp, Mustache, Beard, Sideburns, etc.) the price typically ranges from $500 - $4,000. 

How long does it take?

SMP procedures typically take 3 sessions to achieve the desired look. Each person's skin is unique and will take the pigmentation a bit differently than others, this is why the 3 sessions are important. We make sure your scalp excepts the pigment even if it takes extra sessions at no extra cost to you.  

How long does SMP last?

SMP Can last 5-7 years or even more depending on your lifestyle. (if you're active, work outdoors, etc.) The pigmentation will soften up after a time and will need to be reapplied.  

Do I need Touch-ups? if so how much is it?

Yes, from time to time some Scalps will lose pigmentation and will need touchups. Some Artists will Charge $100-$500. We offer free touch-ups for 6 months after the last session. 

How is it done?

The SMP procedure is done using a Specially designed tattoo gun and needle made just for PMU as well as the Ink that is also designed to blend with any skin color or ethnicity. With the knowledge of the Artists, Micro pigments are implanted literally with pinpoint precision on an area making each implant mimic a hair stubble.
